Over the winter the Gryphs have headed indoors to enjoy the newly refurbished pitches of the Stephenson Centre, at Xavier College. These two sessions so far have showed good numbers (between 10 and 15) and have the potential to be used for early selection decisions.
Included with the regulars we have been a gifted with a plethora of new talent.
A young leg spinner, who graced us with his presence at the last session. With the leg break being almost untouchable, by even our classiest batsmen, and his quicker ball catching a few on the pads. The future looks bright for this young slow bowler, especially if we head to turf this year.
This deeply missed tearaway quick made an appearance at the first session, giving even the best of us a bruise or two to remember him by. His season looks promising if he continues to commit like this.
Some would think he lives for this type of training. He certainly has showed he is in some form once again when batting inside, hitting the bowl clearly and making us all watch carefully for sweetly times off drives. Although found himself in a bit of trouble in the last session by becoming his own worst enemy, with a number of played-on dismissals.
