ROUND 3 RESULTS

Highlight of round 3 was the undefeated 140 by Jamie Cooper as Caulfield Grammarians ran up a remarkable 1-260 against Monash on Cordner. Their win maintained their perfect record and they share top place on the A Grade table with Reds, who cruised to victory after Canterbury collapsed from 0-80 to the offspin of Dave Norman.

In B Grade, pace-setters Powerhouse and Arcadia Hotel had comfortable wins, but MHSOB had to bat grimly for a draw against bottom side Reds in the only game to get a start on Sunday. Burnley and Bayswater had hard-fought victories in C grade, while in D grade Barnawartha North recorded its first win, easily accounting for Burnley.

CONCRETERS LINE

A handy phone number for captains is the Concreters Line -- 9669-4916 (options 1 then 3). This is a Weather Bureau radar report, updated hourly, that gives the outlook for rain in different parts of Melbourne for the next couple of hours.

Acting on the 12 noon report that Sunday's rain would clear between 1pm and 2pm, the captains in the B grade game MHSOB v Reds got their game started at 2pm and played 73 overs when all other matches had been abandoned.
