Mercantile Round 3 Results

By Alec Khan

Highlight of round 3 was the undefeated 140 by Jamie Cooper as Caulfield Grammarians ran up a remarkable 1-260 against Monash on Cordner. Their win maintained their perfect record and they share top place on the A Grade table with Reds, who cruised to victory after Canterbury collapsed from 0-80 to the offspin of Dave Norman.

In B Grade, pace-setters Powerhouse and Arcadia Hotel had comfortable wins, but MHSOB had to bat grimly for a draw against bottom side Reds in the only game to get a start on Sunday. Burnley and Bayswater had hard-fought victories in C grade, while in D grade Barnawartha North recorded its first win, easily accounting for Burnley.
