Rain played havoc with the first day of round 5, with only eight matches getting a start. In A grade, Power House ran up a formidable score against Reds thanks to opener Miles Brandwood and skipper Dave Miller, but wickets crashed in the Burnley CYMS v Sacred Heart clash on a damp FP1 track.

In B grade, Bayswater's Mags made 59 of his side's 4-64 in pursuit of Power House's moderate 120, while Reds' last wicket pair edged their side to first innings points over Arcadia. Canterbury and South Yarra are firmly in control of their C grade games. In the only Sunday game to play, Gunbower United has grafted its way to a slight advantage over Reds in the top-of-the-ladder clash in D grade.

Abandoned games will be played as 90 over matches next week, starting at 12.00 noon
