Willowfest Fixture

By Matthew Varcoe

Please find below the draw for Willowfest.....

Yes, that's right, we are in CUP GRADE....!!?!! The top grade......!!! It
will be a great experience for us all to play at this level, however, there
is only Cup grade and A-grade this year, so the competition may be a little
weaker than normal....(so we might win a couple of games) Ah well, lets
ava crack at 'em anyway and try and win some spondoola...... (1st - $5000,
2nd - $2000, 3rd - $1000)

And the girls are guranteed at least $500 (2nd place), cos there's only 2
teams, and the entrance fee has been reduced to $300 too, so they are
basically handing us money... If the girls win, (which they will),then
$1000 hops on board....

Have a good'n.... Merry Xmas

REMINDER: XMAS PARTY, 15/12/2001 from 6pm, ECR See everyone there
(Drinks at normal Gryph rates)

1. Boxing Day - Teams and umpires registration at The Setts (8th Street,
Mildura), from 5.00 p.m. till 8.00 p.m.
Pick up all paperwork, lodge any player registration lists (or amend
changes), pick up ordered balls etc., and pay any outstanding entry fees -
All Team managers must attend.

2. Day 1 - December 27
Lodge all match paperwork back at The Setts (Carnival headquarters), AS
SOON AS POSSIBLE FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF PLAY.
The Willowfest Wack will be staged at the Mildura Senior College Oval (M1)
from 7.00 p.m. Wackers who wish to enter our longest hitting competition
may do so by obtaining/lodging entry forms on Boxing Day (@$10 ea.), or on
the night. The excellent prizemoney of $500 will again ensure the big
hitters will turn out and this event usually pulls a huge crowd. Catering
and refreshments will be available at the ground - a real fun evening at a
great setting.
Our daily awards will be presented during `The Wack'.

3. Day 2 - December 28
Match reports/paperwork ASAP to The Setts - awards from 7.00 p.m. Tonight
we have the Mildura Harness Racing Club's meeting at City Oval - each
Willowfest player will receive a free first beer ticket courtesy Mildura
East CC who run the Public Bar at the Trotts - their clubrooms are at the
rear of the grandstand, also a big television is in the rooms.

4. Day 3 - December 29
Match Reports etc again asap - we may have a courier service pick up
paperwork following game 1 so please have this ready for collection.
After this long day's play, there would be nothing better than to head
back to The Setts and enjoy a few drinks - also the Setts Cafe
(restaurant), would suit the serious diners, and the big screen of course
will be in operation. Daily awards from 7.00 p.m.

5. Day 4 - December 30
It is vital that match reports are submitted as early as possible tonight
so that final awards/placings may be calculated prior to our Presentation
Dinner at The Setts from 7.00 p.m. Scott Ashelford will provide an
excellent value for money smorgasboard @ $20 per head and with our
Carnival MC Bill Sauer in charge, a great night is assured. Bill will
also run our Guest Speaker Jamie Siddons through an interview/questions
from the floor session that is sure to be one not be missed.

We would appreciate each team's support by attending this end of carnival
function - TEAMS RECEIVING PRIZEMONEY AND/OR AWARDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
WELL REPRESENTED.

6. Catering @ Grounds
It is recommended that team managers check with host clubs/grounds on
arrival as to what is on offer for lunches/drinks etc.
The following is a list of known providers:

would suggest placing orders early.
