Committee Meeting 2, 2006

Unconfirmed minutes of committee meeting 02/06 the Monash Gryphons Cricket Club held 6.30 pm Tuesday 27th June 2006 in the MONSU meeting room

1. Attendance
Present: David Harrison (chair), Stephen Pearson (minutes), Piyush Chhajed, Megan Robinson, Katherine Broom, Ben Gordon, Matthew Varcoe.

In Attendance: Caroline Cooksley (Monash Sport)

Apologies: Cat Jones

2. Previous Minutes
This item has been deferred until the next meeting.

3. Treasurer’s Report
Piyush submitted draft budget based on actuals from last years He notes that we have to make a payment to Monsu for last season’s membership of ***.

It was moved:
‘That the Monash Gryphons Cricket Club pay MONSU *** for last season’s membership fees’

Caroline notes that the club also has to pay the registration fee of 36.70 for the Public Officer

It was moved:
‘That the committee authorises the payment of $36.70 to MONSU for the Public Officer Registration fee.’

Stephen notes that we must pay a down payment for the Indoor training sessions that we have booked. He can make the payment and be reimbursed by the club.

‘That the committee authorise the payment of *** for indoor pre season training, to be paid by Stephen Pearson and reimbursed by the club’

David reported that Craig Robison’s *** donation is in doubt, due to unseen personal matters.

4. Events
Megan raised ideas for this season’s events, based on last season’s events.
David noted Quality not Quantity

Consensus is to hold most events post Xmas (including but not limited to: Curry Nite, Twenty20, Pres Night, Trivia Night)

Kiosk ideas needed to make Food/Keg work.

5. Pre Season
David & Ben reported that Jim Sosic will look into getting some practice balls for next season.

Need to look at possible physio work for players.

6. Survey
Discussion delayed until the results can be studied.

7. Delegates Meetings
KB reported that due to e-mail issue she missed the last delegates meetings. SP to fix the e-mail issue.

SP reported the proposed playing dates for all VMCU associations for the season 2006/07 are as follows:
Oct: 7, 14, 21 & 28
Nov: 4 & 11, 18 & 25
Dec: 2 & 9, 16
Jan: 13, 20, 27 & Feb 3
Feb 10 & 17, 24 & Mar 3

8. Coaching
Piyush to complete Level 1 training over winter, and continue as an assistant coach, mainly focusing on the 3rd and 4th XI.

David advised we need to advertise for a new coach, as Craig Robinson will not be able to

9. Monsu Report
Caroline to circulate the affiliation for committee to complete before the start of season. She also proposed *** float for start of season in a cash advance on our account, as well as Credit Card payments for membership provided by MONSU
