Message from Coach Pearson

By Stephen Pearson

Stephen Pearson is the Monash Gryphons Cricket Club senior women’s coach for season 2007/08.

Steve is a Cricket Australia Level 1 accredited coach, and has a Working with Children Certificate.

During the course of last season he voluntarily coached the women’s XI with the exception of a few training sessions and on match days. Further to his coaching experience he has been a team captain for over six years, including a semi-final team last season.

Steve has made a commitment to attend at least 95% of all training sessions during the season, and will fulfil a role within the women’s selection committee. Along with these responsibilities he will be looking forward to building a positive team spirit and encouraging the players of the club, especially the female players to build towards a more united club and push for selection at the higher level.

His coaching plans for the season include:

  • Attendance at all training and matches during the season.
  • A role on the selection committee.
  • Conduct 2 player surveys, one at the start of the season, one at the end.
  • Working with the committee to establish a junior program.
  • Working with the committee to recruit new players to the club.
  • Create a unified team that work together for each other.
