Emmanuel has made it back-to-back A grade flags, after the last day's play in the A grade grand final was washed out. The last day in the B grade final was also abandoned, giving MHSOB the flag on ladder position.

In A Reserve, play got under way at 2.15 and S.Yarra made their position safe, Roly Imhoff finishing on a superb 149 not out as the last two pairs added a further 42. Powerhouse needed 256 at more than six an over, a task that proved impossible on a soft pitch.

As expected, C grade produced a gripping finish. With the start delayed till 2pm due to the wet pitch, South Yarra came out swinging and scored better than five an over in a brilliant 20-over blitz. Their declaration set Powerhouse 122 with 40 overs to bat. Powerhouse crashed to 8/53, but veteran opening bowlers Steve Hickman and Barney Miller grafted out the last eighteen overs with fielders clustered around the bat to secure the flag at 6.20pm, Barney making the most important 0 not out of his career.
