Minutes of Previous Meeting The Minutes of the previous meeting held on 28/10/2002 were presented for acceptance, without amendments. MOTION: ‘That the minutes of meeting held on 28/10/2002 be accepted’. Moved: Tracy Widdows Seconded: Angie Dickson CARRIED: Yes 3. President’s Report Discussion: Shelley Wilson reported that she has submitted a new blurb to Jim Poussard for the MONSU website. Shelley Wilson stated that the premiership flags had been returned by Dave Bennett, and he will return the perpetual trophy in February in time for it to be engraved with the new champion’s name. Shelley Wilson stated that after a meeting with Jayantha, Stephen and herself that Jayantha was to be dismissed, as he did not meet the KPI’s indicated at the start of his trial period. Shelley offered to write him a reference if required, and stated that he will be paid for his time at the club. 4. Treasurer’s Report Discussion: Some of the collected funds will be required to pay for MONSU associate memberships, which will need to be calculated. Tracy Widdows was unsure of the number of memberships paid, but stated that the figure was still quite low. She reiterated that we need to apply pressure to our male members to pay their memberships in the next few weeks. There is a coming invoice for the cricket caps from Knight Sports. Action: Tracy Widdows to calculate the amount of memberships collected and advise Shelley Wilson how much will need to be paid to MONSU. Action: Shelley Wilson to organise photos, and forms for MONSU Associate memberships. Action: Shelley Wilson to forward all digital photos of members to Stephen Pearson for uploading to the website. Action: Tracy Widdows to follow up the insurance to still be collected for the stolen club equipment. 5. Safety Policies Discussion: Discussion on this topic was postponed to the next meeting. Action: Tracy Widdows to redraft club safety policies by the next meeting. Action: Natalie Abbott to follow up possibility of obtaining a subsidy for floppy hats. 6. Business Arising From Previous Meeting 6.1. Willowfest Discussion: Stephen reported that he had received an invoice from Buronga Caravan Park for the deposit on the camping grounds of $150. Shelley reported that she found a mini bus that the club would be able to hire, but at a cost of $85 per person for fuel and the hire. After discussion of the reasonableness of the cost, it was decided to hire the bus if there was enough interest for it. Tracy Widdows offered to drive the mini bus. Shelley Wilson has made posters for Willowfest, and will put these up at training and promote them at games. Stephen offered to get expressions of interest for the men’s side, and Tracy offered to get the interest from the women, both by 23 November. Action: Tracy to organise a list of women’s team members for Stephen. 7. Correspondence 7.1. Letters received from: Rebel Sport Re: Information about a sale to occur on the 19th of November with additional discounts to card holders 8. General Business 8.1. Merchandise Discussion: Bec MacLeod reported via phone call to Tracy that the cricket caps are to be picked up on the 12th of November and taken to Cap Capers to be embroidered with logos. Bec MacLeod suggested a playing top for Willowfest that was grey with a blue collar. Action: Stephen to see if suggested shirt is acceptable as a playing shirt, for the Willowfest Tournament 2002. 8.2. Events Discussion: Angie Dickson reported that the hire of the hall was to be $320, which it was infeasible, and suggested to use the clubrooms instead. Angie Dickson reported that Rohan Tennakoon was unable to commit to the night due to work commitments, and suggested that a few people make something and bring it along if Rohan was unavailable on the night. Action: Angie Dickson to organise a flyer to promote the night. Action: Angie Dickson to talk to Southside to inform them of the night to be able to use clubrooms. 8.3. Fundraising Discussion: Angie Dickson suggested that the chocolates fundraiser to be held after the Christmas period. Action: Angie Dickson to organise chocolate fundraiser after Christmas. 8.4. Coaching Discussion: As Shelley stated in her report, Jayantha would not be continuing as Men’s coach. She stated that it would be too hard to find a coach at this late stage, so the more experienced male members of the club to help with coaching for the rest of the year. Tracy Widdows suggested John Wise, an ex-coach from Salesian as a coach, as he has experience and is interested. Action: Tracy to contact John Wise, and ask him to come to training one Wednesday night. 8.5. Sponsorship Shelley pointed out that the scoreboards will accommodate a larger (A2) size Racecourse Hotel image (twice the size of the one that Don Baulch had laminated). Action: Angie to enquire about A2 colour printing and laminating Action: Shelley to make contact with Subway on Toorak Road regarding scoreboard advertising Action: Don Baulch to send A3-sized flyer to Mrinal to be displayed in the Gym 8.6. Other Business Tracy stated that she was going to put in a letter to the VWCA with the match report about the altercation that occurred between girls in the opposition team after the completion of the game. Through correspondence received about a schoolgirl’s cricket team, it was suggested to nominate Helen Taylor if she is interested in participating. 9.
