Shelley Wilson also paid her respect to the women’s side for completing their second victory at Willowfest over the Christmas break. The side won $750, and will have great interest in returning in 2003. The men’s side did not fair as well, and taking a men’s side along in 2003, would require much more interest than this tour generated. 4. Treasurer’s Report Discussion: Tracy Widdows reported that the contract between Craig Robinson and MONSU is yet to be signed, and needs to be drafted. Stephen Pearson reported that we have $15 of outstanding fines from the MCA. Natalie Abbott reported that we have $20 of outstanding fines from the VWCA. The committee agreed, and proposed a BBQ to be held after the next women’s 1st XI match, during the Australia Day weekend. Action: Stephen Pearson to organise a BBQ for the 26th of January. 5.2. Men's 3rd XI future - Stephen Pearson & Mrinal Mahajan Discussion: The future of the men’s 3rd XI depends on a side playing the match starting the 25th of January. Failure to field a side will result in the forfeiture of the season. Stephen Pearson has contacted the league and attempted to move the game to two Sundays, rather than two Saturdays. This would enable Stephen, and other players to compete on both days. The only concern involved is Glen Waverley Cricket Club refusing to switch games, in favour of receiving a forfeit, this would therefore end our 3rd XI season, as we do not have enough players to fill 3 sides. 7.2. Equipment Manager Position Discussion: Stephen Pearson raised the issue that the ienstated equipment manager, Yadav Dharmendra, was unable to continue his role for the rest of the season, due to work commitments. The committee therefore raised the issue of finding a replacement of this position. This discussion resulted in questioning present club members present at the meeting. Belinda Browne volunteered to fill the position until season’s end, as Belinda was looking at becoming part of the committee next season. MOTION: ‘That Yadav Dharmendra be removed as active equipment manager of the club’. Moved: Angie Dickson Seconded: Stephen Pearson CARRIED: Yes MOTION: ‘That Belinda be appointed the equipment manager until the end of the season’. Moved: Nat Abbott Seconded: Bec MacLeod CARRIED: Yes Action: Belinda Browne, as new equipment manager, to audit all existing club equipment. 7.3. 2nd XI Captaincy Discussion: Stephen Pearson raised the issue that Lloyd Heinrich was the last voted in captain, yet Stephen had been fulfilling the task. Stephen asked for the committee’s backing in him continuing the role until the end of the season. MOTION: ‘That Stephen Pearson be appointed as Second XI captain until the end of current Season (2002/03)’. Moved: Shelley Wilson Seconded: Akshay Atri CARRIED: Yes 7.4. Juniors Discussion: Stephen Pearson raised the idea that the club will eventually need to look at a junior program. Angie Dickson raised the issue that, it requires a lot of hard work to successfully run a junior’s program. The committee also raised the issue that the club needs to concentrate on making a successful and committed men’s side before we invest in juniors. The club will need some time to mature before juniors are an option. 7.7.
