Minutes of Previous Meeting The Minutes of the previous meeting held on 13/01/2002 were presented for acceptance, without amendments. MOTION: ‘That the minutes of meeting held on 13/01/2002 be accepted’. Moved: Shelley Wilson Seconded: Bec MacLeod CARRIED: Yes 3. President’s Report Discussion: Shelley Wilson reported that the “novelty cheque” from Willowfest had been brought to the clubrooms. Shelley Wilson reported that in the coming week the Monash Gryphons are to play Carnegie Cricket Club, in a match that will contain ex-players of Monash. Shelley Wilson reported that she would pursue the retrieval of the Club Championship Award from Dave Bennett after Carnegie Game. 4. Treasurer’s Report Discussion: Tracy Widdows reported that the Coaches Contact was ready to handed to Craig Robinson. Stephen Pearson reported that the club is yet to be invoiced for the MCA fines. Stephen Pearson reported that the club is yet to be invoiced for the SD&CCL fines. Stephen Pearson reported that Knight Sports had sent the club a final notice. Stephen Pearson reported that City of Glen Eira had sent a reminder for the electricity Bill, along with a Gas Bill. Stephen Pearson reported that the Xavier Cheque had been posted. Tracy Widdows reported that a Cheque had been sent to GCCC to pay for long sleeve shirts. 5. Business Arising From Previous Meeting 5.1. Safety Policies Discussion: The drafts of the Safety Policy and Smoking policy were tabled, and discussed. Everyone agreed with the contents of both policies, and agreed to have them merged into one document. Shelley Wilson suggested that there should be a paragraph describing who has the responsibility to enforce polices, and also who monitors that the rules are being enforced. Action: Tracy Widdows to combine smoking & safety policy and submit as one document next meeting. 6. Correspondence 6.1. General Business 7.1. Men's 3rd XI future Discussion: Stephen Pearson reported that due to the refusal of Glen Waverley to move the game to Sunday play, for the last round SD&CCL, the 3rd XI due to lack of players had to forfeit. This forfeit meant that the club had had the maximum forfeits allowed (3) and therefore had to forfeit the season. The club committee for next season will need to re-evaluate the position of the 3rd men’s eleven next season. 7.2. Equipment Audit Discussion: Belinda Browne reported that she had completed a audit of all club equipment, and that all Equipment accounted for, except: · 2 men’s Puma (millichamp & hall) bats (believed to be in the procession of Rohan Tennakoon); · 1 first aid kit (believed to be in the procession of Lloyd Heinrich) Belinda Browne also highlighted that the club is in need more drinking cups. MOTION: ‘That Belinda Browne be allocated $20 to purchase new cups for the club’. Moved: Shelley Wilson Seconded: Natalie Abbott CARRIED: Yes Action: Belinda Browne to purchase 3 sets of drinking cups 7.3. 1%er Awards Night Discussion: Angie Dickson raised the discussion of the coming 1%er awards night, which will be a prelude to the actual awards night. The date had to be carefully picked by the committee, as end of season trips, and finals needed to be accounted for. The date selected by the committee is Sunday 30th of March 2003. It was also agreed that the night be finger food, and have a count of some description. There will be a committee meeting in early March to organise this event. 7.4. BBQ Report Discussion: Stephen Pearson reported that he had organised a BBQ at the end of our women’s 1st XI game, that a moderate success. Stephen reported that the club made a $40 profit ($80 total), and submitted a receipt for $40, to treasurer, Tracy Widdows for reimbursement. 7.5. VWCA Report Discussion: Natalie Abbott reported that the club had received a receipt for $108 for payments to the VWCA. Natalie Abbott raised the question about VWCA presentation night attendance. Natalie Abbott presented a memo from the VWCA on forfeiting & notifying umpires procedure, from Kim Neilson. Natalie Abbott tabled a form for the 2003 VicHealth Sports Injury Prevention Program. Action: Belinda Browne to enquire about the 2003 VicHealth Sports Injury Prevention Program, and attempt to secure spots for training club members. 7.6. MCA match balls Discussion: Stephen Pearson reported that the club had run low in MCA match balls, and that we had only collected 24 match balls for this season. Tracy Widdows reminded the committee that a cheque had been written to cover an extra 6 match balls. Action: Stephen Pearson to collect half a dozen balls from Simon Philips 8.
